What is a Birth Doula?

Long ago, the word doula meant “the woman who serves.” Nowadays, a birth doula is a woman who offers focused awareness to the birthing mother during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the time following birth.

She brings her loving heart, focused awareness, and gentle hands to the motherbaby and the rest of the family from pre-conception to pregnancy and onto postpartum time.

The doula is fully present at birth to ‘mother the mother’ and gently encourages her to do what she so beautifully knows how to do—give birth.

Whether the birth is at home, in a birthing center, or in a hospital, the doula supports the mother to feel relaxed, safe, and capable in her body.

It is my absolute honor to offer this sacred service for the mothers and families birthing such bright and beautiful souls at this time, for I truly believe peace on earth begins with an empowering birth.

The Sacred Birthing School

In the spring of 2023, I embarked on a journey to study as a Birth Doula with my dear teacher, Barbra Essman, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Barbra’s teachings and her devotion to the birthing world, children, mothers, families, and her community inspired me beyond words.

I now carry on Barbra’s values and teachings on sacred and gentle birthing, seeing birth as one of the most profound ceremonies and rites of passage that this life has to offer.

All birth is sacred. Each birth is unique and unfolds in its own perfection.

As a Doula, I am fully here to support you and your baby in having the most empowering birth experience possible. I will collaborate with you and your family throughout your pregnancy to help you prepare for this sacred passageway in the ways that feel good and ture for you.

Initial Consultation

1 initial 30 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit!

Prenatal Visits

3 Prenatal visits- focusing on building safety and trust in our relationship, sharing information and birth knowledge, childbirth education, going over comfort measures, birth plans, yoga for pregnancy, birth visualization, birth art, preparing mind, body, & spirit for birth, & postpartum planning.

On call support

On call 24/7 ( 38-42 weeks Postpartum), continuous email and phone support.
Back Up Doula Support

Continuous Labor Support

I offer continuous support throughout your labor and delivery. I meet you at your home, birth center, or hospital.

Additional Support

Mother Blessing Ceremony

An intimate celebration inspired by many traditons from all over the world. This ceremony is held to prepare an expectant mother for her birth journey—We shower the mama with love, support and encouragement. The act of birth is seen as a rite of passage for women & partner, and this is meant to help a woman feel more mentally, physically and emotionally ready to give birth.

postpartum Integration visit

1 Postpartum visit (2 hours) During this visit we will check in about how you are feeling, recovering, and adjusting to life with a new baby. I show up to your home to support you with anything you may need as a new mother.
